Sustainability Awareness of In-Service Physical Education Teachers

Physical Education has been described as a subject with unique characteristics that can contribute to achieving Sustainable Development Goals. However, an analysis of PE teachers’ (PETs) sustainability consciousness not yet conducted. For this purpose, total 203 PETs completed the validated SCQ-S instrument measure three dimensions sustainable development in components (attitudes, knowledge and behaviours). The results obtained show have high for (SD), except attitudes within economic dimension. Sex identified variable determines awareness significantly higher scores women all variables evaluated, behaviour social These findings provide new SD paradigm, serving link future research aims harness benefits planet.
